We can accommodate up to 150 people for your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception.
The first step will be to hold a wedding date which we can do for seven days. This gives you a bit of breathing space and time to check that the registrars/church can do a ceremony on that date. If you’d like to confirm your wedding date, then we require a £2,500 deposit which can be paid by bank transfer. We would also ask you to sign and return a copy of our terms and conditions.
Yes, we are unable to book your civil ceremony for you so you will need to contact the Monmouthshire Registration Service to book this. Their contact details are below.

You can access The House from 11.30am on the morning of your wedding. The Courtyard will be available for your suppliers to access from 9.30 am so that they can start setting up the decorations for your ceremony or wedding breakfast.
The bar will close, and the music will stop, at 12.00am. We ask that all guests leave the venue by 12.30am. We recommend that guests book their taxis to collect them between 12.00am-12.15am. Guests who are staying overnight in the bedrooms are welcome to return to The House to relax and share stories from the day.
We kindly ask that the venue is vacated by 10.00am the day after your wedding.

We recommend that guests check in during the drinks reception. If any guests arrive earlier and want to bring their luggage to The House, we will happily keep this safe until their rooms are ready.
Yes, we require all bedrooms to be occupied. These can either be paid for by you or our guests. Any rooms that have not been paid for at 2 months before your wedding, will be charged to you.
We feel that food is an important part of your wedding, so we’ve carefully chosen Epic Caterers, Strawberry Shortcake, Pickled Pumpkin and Ffwrnes Pizza to be our in-house caterers. You still have lots of flexibility with our caterers, everything is possible as they will work closely with you to choose the perfect food for your big day!
All drinks are provided by St Tewdrics House, we have plenty of options available and can incorporate your favourite drinks into the day.
We encourage you to put your own ‘stamp’ on the venue and decorate it with your choice of decorations. Your wedding coordinator will be on hand to help decorate the venue on the morning of your wedding or you may decide to hire a venue stylist instead. The only thing we ask is that your decorations don’t damage the venue (e.g. nails or screws in walls and sticky tape on paintwork), please leave everything in its original condition.
Yes. St Tewdrics will supply glassware for your drinks reception – this includes flutes and glasses for soft drinks. We are happy to hire in additional glasses for a gin bar, Pimm’s and cocktails, there will be an additional charge. Glassware will also be supplied for the wedding breakfast (wine glasses, water glasses and flutes for the toast drink), along with tablecloths, linen napkins, cutlery and crockery.
Yes, you are more than welcome to hire in activities for your wedding day – this is a great way to keep your guests entertained! Our only requirements are that the activity provider has public liability insurance and PAT certificates for their electrical equipment. They will also need to ‘man’ the activity if necessary.
To keep our gardens and grounds looking beautiful we only allow real petal confetti (either dried or fresh) so that the confetti naturally blends in with our other flowers and plants. We don’t allow the use of confetti cannons.
There is ample car parking at St Tewdrics House. You are welcome to leave your car overnight but all cars will need to be collected by 10.00 am the following morning.
If you’re planning to book a taxi from St Tewdrics House you will need to book well in advance. Chepstow is a small town and taxis get booked up very quickly, particularly in the evening and on weekends. Some taxis in the area don’t take bookings after midnight and we’d hate for you to be stuck without a taxi at the end of the night. We recommend arriving at the venue half an hour before the ceremony (if this is taking place at St Tewdrics House) and arranging your taxi home for 12.00am-12.15am.
All drinks consumed on the premises must be purchased at St Tewdrics House and our bar will be available for you to purchase all drinks. Any drinks brought in by guests will be confiscated. We kindly ask guests to respect this policy as we want to avoid any embarrassing incidents on the couple’s special day.
St Tewdrics House has a strict no smoking policy; smoking is not permitted within the venue at any time. Wedding days are happy days to be shared with family and friends, many children attend our weddings, therefore we operate a zero-tolerance policy regarding the use and/or possession of all recreational drugs. Guests either in possession of, or who we believe, are under the influence of any recreational drugs will be asked to leave the premises immediately, and the police will be informed.
