The Lodge

A Private Retreat

Nestled in the grounds of St Tewdrics House is The Lodge. This delightful Lodge was once The Gatehouse, originally home to the gatekeeper and gardeners who were originally responsible for maintaining the grounds.
The Lodge is situated a stone’s throw from the main house and offers three bedrooms and with an interconnecting door it really is the perfect place for a family or friends to share. The bedrooms are all named as a homage to our owner, Geraint Thomas OBE, and his achievements in the sport of cycling.
On the Ground Floor is the Executive room – Maillot Jaune – which means Yellow Jersey in French. The Yellow Jersey is the iconic Jersey worn by the leader of the Tour de France. It allows the rider who was in the overall lead at the end of the previous day to be easily identified. The Maillot Jaune bedroom will easily accommodate up to four people*. With a sumptuous King size bed, which can be converted into twin beds, plus a huge sofa bed (soon to arrive) it offers the perfect space for getting together the night before or after the wedding.  The room is decorated with designer luxury fabrics and features Cotswold style furniture with a gorgeous Oak floor. The accessible friendly wet room has Bayswater bathroom furniture which offers an elegant cottage inspired look, marble tiling and ethical bathing products from The Goodwash Company.
Upstairs there are two additional two quaint double en-suite bedrooms named La Rosiere – this was the stage ( stage 11) that Geraint Thomas won at La Rosière to take the yellow jersey and No 13 – which refers to the corner on Alpe D’heuz named after Geraint – the only person ever to have a corner named after him!
